The DIGnity Dementia Friendly Community Garden
(modeled after the DIGnity Garden in Australia)
Horticultural Therapy with Trellis Horticultural Therapy Alliance
The DIGnity Dementia Friendly Community Garden will provide fresh vegetables,
safe access to fresh air, socialization, and healthy outdoor exercise for people living with Dementia.
Using elevated raised beds, persons living with Dementia will perform garden tasks
such as planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting.
Maintain physical activity, cognitive function, and social interaction
Remain stimulated, feel valued, and provide stimulation of all senses.
